In
Bulgaria
there are villages where life passes slowly - as it was a
century ago. Journey to Bozhanovo is not only space travel but
travel to another era.
Bozhanovo
- a picturesque
village nestled in the coils of a dried river, is located 6 km
away from the sea and the endless dunes of Krapetz,
Shabla
Municipality,
adjacent to three lakes - Durankulashko, Ezeretsko and Shabla
lake. The same time the village is far away from progress. May
be the reason is the signboard of the village, which honestly
disclose its beginning instead of staying gracefully on country
road. And between the road and the signboard there are 20 m
only. Fortunately, the big investor interest also didnt see the
sign and passed it. So it remained as it was before - kindly,
naive and small.
Only five persons live in the village - they are engaged in
subsistence farming and cattle-breeding. Their lifestyle, their
conversations, their goodwill charm the city man, tired of
civilization noise and vanity. The few owners of vacation
properties are intelligent Bulgarians that have attitude to its
originality. Very often, as we get together having evening glass
of wine by the fire, we share our astonishment and joy that time
in Bozhanovo sleeps, huddled up the foot of the hill. Elder
people sink into memories for their childhood, while children
play undisturbed by fears of their parents and discover the
charm of the real life in nature.
Silence is unique, but in the spring it is difficult to sleep -
birds sing until dawn and this is a real problem for people who
are not used to it. Sometimes in the vicinities can be heard
howling of jackals which run away from jazz, swing and classical
music.
